-- The place was empty of both its master and its wizards.

-- You and Wiz spend the next few hours searching the city.

-- You traveled here chasing after the stolen Oracle Rings.

-- Smaragd of Rallydon and Sapphirus of Ayvias.

-- You have seen their true power, barely escaping alive.

-- The enemy.

-- Lianna, who took the rings, and the shadowy Guild Ministry.

-- You continue walking, mulling over the recent events.

-- Leaving the Merchant Ward, you head to the city square.--

Researcher: Ten times so far this month. At this rate, I estimate-

Wiz: I wonder what’s going on...

-- The irritated man notices you.

Brawny Man: And you! What do you want?

-- You approach under his intimidating gaze.

Brawny Man: What are you doing fooling around here? Hurry up and go!

-- He stares at you for a moment.

Duga: I need you to clear the monsters out of Gunos Tower.

Duga: Get the details from that researcher there. Sound good?

Researcher: Work is impossible under these conditions. We need your help.

(Before 1-4 Boss)

-- The source of the monsters, a lab midway up the Tower.

-- You struggle to comprehend what lies before you.

-- A warped, black space pulses at the back of the dim room.

-- The sight is mesmering, yet it oozes a chilling dread.

-- It is without doubt a portal to the world beyond.

-- It strangely shrinks then twists out a grotesque creature.


(End of Stage 1-4: Gloomy Laboratory)

-- After defeating the monsters from the slowly whirling air-

???: Excellent work.

-- You turn at the sound of the voice.

Researcher: We’ll handle it from here.

-- He walks toward the portal, mumbling to himself.

-- He begins some kind of spell...

(Screen glows white for a moment)

-- and the warped air quickly clears.

-- After introducing yourself, you ask about the monsters.

Researcher: You must not be from Sciorn if you’re confused by this.

-- I only just got here, you say.

Researcher: That disturbance was a door to another world.

Researcher: Sciorn is a distorted land. It has always known monsters.

Researcher: This is like a lightning tower, built to stabilize the air.

Researcher: These monsters’ frequent appearances are a reaction.

Researcher: You should bear that in mind when working in Sciorn.

-- Thanks, you say.

Researcher: Oh, it’s nothing.

Runal: My name is Runal. I may ask for your help again.

Runal: I hope you don’t mind.

-- By the time you return to the Guild, it is nearly daybreak

Duga: Have you lot heard of the “Shadow Mystics Brigade”?

-- This is the first time you have ever heard of the name.

Duga: How about what happened thirteen years ago?

-- You recall what Rusche told you in Ayvias.

Duga: The Gairnikan wizards were banished for using forbidden

Duga: magic. They became the Shadow Mystics Brigade. War broke

Duga: out, and many were killed, but the survivors have been moving

Duga: recently. That Lianna from your story must be one of them.

-- Duga sounds sure, but something still bothers you.

-- If that’s the case, then where does the Ministry come in?

Wiz: ... The Ministry stayed out of the war.

Duga: They might have ties to the Shadow Mystics.

Duga: Lady Wiz, and you, wizard.

Duga: We the Wizards’ Guild of Sciorn protect it from the hand of

Duga: the Shadow Mystics. Our objective is to heal that

Duga: thirteen-year-old scar. And we could really use your help.

-- Of course, you say, nodding firmly.

Duga: What exactly was the Guard doing!?

Tower Guard: We faced the ambush, but they broke through... I'm sorry.

Duga: Unbelievable...

-- Duga is fuming in the square in front of Gunos Tower.

Wiz: Looks like something happened...

-- You run toward Duga.

Duga: Runal was taken away.

-- Runal. He was the chief of Gunos Tower...

Duga: On their robes, there was a dragon on a square magic

Duga: There are labs, four of them, just outside Sciorn that the

-- You return to the Wizards' Guild for more details.


(After clearing 6-4: Fallen Into Decay)

-- Deep in the laboratory, you arrive at a large hall.

-- Once ornately decorated walls are beginning to crumble.

-- It is clear that this was once a significant place.

-- You have yet to find anything connected to the invaders.

-- Wiz climbs an empty bookshelf and scans the room.

Wiz: A magic circle...?

-- You now notice the pattern drawn across the entire floor.

-- After a few minutes of careful investigation...

-- It has faded but is clearly for opening a portal.

-- It is far larger than the average magic circle.

-- You place your hands on it and try casting a spell.

Wiz: ......

-- Nothing happens.

Wiz: A magic circle this big can't be activated head-on.

-- You recall the fight with Shion under the lake in Ayvias.

-- The giant magic circle that summoned a powerful True Name.

-- Shion using Transmutation to gain the power of an aquadrake.

-- The Shadow Mystics Brigade.

-- The group of Gairnikan wizards connected to the war...

-- You make another sweep, but find no evidence of recent use.

Alec: Two Nights of Chaos so close together. It's amazing!

-- Which is probably proof they all had the same purpose.

-- Wiz is sitting in the magic circle drawn on the floor.

-- Gazing at Wiz's swishing tail, you wonder.

-- If you could activate this magic circle...

-- you might be able to change Wiz back.

-- You put your hands on it and try activating it... Nothing.

-- Magical power.

-- If only I had more power...

Wiz: What are you thinking about?

-- You are too lost in thought to answer.

-- With a really strong source of magic, it might work.

-- Something like-

Wiz: You have a lot of nerve, ignoring your master!

-- You finally notice that Wiz has been talking

Wiz: What's wrong?

-- You try asking Wiz.

-- Couldn't we use your Oracle Ring's power to turn you back?

Wiz: Haha, you can be funny sometimes too.

-- Wiz, You're a ring bearer, right?

-- Then, let's use that ring now!

Wiz: You of all people know what those rings are capable of.

Wiz: Very few wizards can control that kind of power.

Wiz: And you've never released a Ring before, right?

-- They are dressed similarly, but one man stands out.

-- You immediately take battle stance.

???: A wizard with a pet black cat. Just like the report said.

???: You're a liability. Taking you out is for the best.

-- The man raises his right hand.

-- Something flashes on his finger.

Wiz: (Is that... an Oracle Ring!?)

-- The man begins to cast a spell.

-- The words and runes beneath his feet begin to shine.

-- The other wizards are bathed in the magic circle's glow.

Wizard B: Reaching beyond eternity...

Wizard C: Inherit your will.

-- Then, a bright light!

(Stage 9-4 Boss battle begins)

(After clearing Stage 9)

-- The monsters, who were once wizards, lie defeated.

-- With horrible groans, they turn to dust and disappear.

-- You have seen that happen before.

-- It is what happens to Vessels.

???: It looks like I suppressed too much of the ring's power.

???: You have the upper hand here.

-- Wiz immediately chases after him.

-- You sprint through the maze of corridors.

-- Wiz ignores your calling and continues at full speed.

-- Eventually you cannot see them at all.

-- You decide to return to the hall and wait for Wiz.

-- You wait until the sun rises, yet there is no sign of her.

-- Wiz never returned, so you went back to Sciorn.

-- As soon as Duga heard your report, he sent search parties.

Duga: We'll explain later. but first, we're getting out of here.

Woman's Voice: Do you think it'll be that easy?

Wiz: !

-- The voice came from behind you.

-- A voice that you know.

Lianna: When I heard about the wizard and his black cat, I couldn't

Enemy Skills Description
Note 1: Enemies using skills will not attack in that turn (except Combo).

Note 2: Status effects carry over to the next battle if their duration have not run out. Furthermore, the last turn of a battle does not count towards the status effects turn counter.

Charge Increases damage of its next attack by 100%.
Combo Change normal attack to multiple multi-target attacks in one turn (4x3 means 4 attacks to 3 spirits at a time).
Counter Standby Kills (deal very high damage to) spirits that hit the target with an attack. Using SS skills to the target will not be countered. If the enemy is killed, there will be no counter attack.
Element Shield Reduces damage from shielded element by a percentage.
Heal All/Heal Self Heal all enemy spirits or only itself, by a percentage of their Max HP.
Lock AS/SS/Full A status effect. Targets are unable to use AS/SS/act for a set amount of turns. 3x2 means 3-turn lock to 2 spirits.
Poison A status effect. Deals damage to your spirits after each of your turns. 3x7% means a duration of 3 turns and 7% of Max HP as damage per turn. Damage can also be fixed, in which case it can be written like 3x200.
Ratio Deals ratio damage (%) based on your spirits' remaining HP.
Reflect SS Kills (deals very high damage to) spirits that hit the target with any special skill with the following exceptions: If hit by a multi-hit nuke, the enemy Reflector will strike back as many times as they were hit by the split nuke; If poisoned, the Reflector respond with the same amount of poison damage lasting for the same number of turns. Skills that hit only other enemies will not be reflected. Likewise, only the spirit who hit the Reflector will be affected by Reflect, even if the skill used hits more than 1 enemy spirit. Damage inflicted is not enhanced by Weaken or reduced by Shield.
Revive Revives all downed enemy spirits.
Weaken Element A status effect. Spirits take more damage than usual, usually a total of 2x, from weakened element.
